Now in our second century!
- On October 16, 2011 we commemorated the beginnings of the church and its first hundred years with a shared feast, worship and celebration. Now we are in the second century of this church… and God’s mercies are new every morning!
Learning Jesus
- A six-week intensive series in practical Christianity
- Rev. Wayne Harting will lead us into a deeper experience of faith and ministry
- Sunday, February 19th through Sunday, March 25, at 6:00-7:30 PM
- Teachers, Leaders and all who want to “go on to perfection” in faith and ministry are urged to attend. A sign-up sheet is available at the church so we can plan to have enough space and enough materials for everyone.
Focus 40
Across the Church of God in North America, churches and individuals are being challenged to forty days of prayer and fasting, from February 29 to March 8. The goal is for 25,00o new disciples to come into the Kingdom of God. A wealth of material is available to help us join with many other churches in this journey. Material is available to help adults, youth, and even children to take part.
Normal recurring activities are as follows:
- Sundays, 9 AM: Sunday School for all ages
- Sundays, 10:00 AM: Worship celebration
- Sundays, at 10:30 — Children’s Church activities.
- Sundays, 11:30 am— Choir Practice. The Choir rehearses for upcoming Sunday morning services. Rehearsals resume on September 11.
- Sunday and Wednesday, 5:00 pm— Scripture Reading. Pastor Bob is reading through the Bible, aloud. We read scripture for 45-50 minutes and have up to ten minutes for discussion or questions.
- Wednesdays, 6:30-7:30 PM: Prayer meeting and Bible study. Some have called this hour of fellowship, prayer and learning the “Best Kept Secret” of the Marbury Church of God. Let’s let the secret out! This group is now studying the Book of Romans.
- First, third and fifth Friday of each month, 9:00 am to 1:00 pm: The Closet of Hope (a clothing ministry) will be open in the Alpha Room. This is a free clothing ministry designed to make new or “good as new” clothing available for those who may be in need. Donations to this ministry may be made during the open hours or by calling for an appointment.
