Below are some of the ministries of the Marbury Church of God.

Children’s Sunday School
Children’s Summer Programs: Vacation Bible School
The past several years the church has conducted a one-day VBS during misdummer.
Mid-Week Bible Study
Bible study takes place each Thursday at 6:30 PM at the church. Additional study groups are formed from time to time as needed.
Youth Ministries (middle/high school)
The Youth group currently meets monthly on Sunday evenings at 5:30 for a well-rounded program that includes food, Bible teaching, games or recreation, and prayer. Time is subject to change based on activities that are going on.
Special Events Ministries
The church sponsors an annual picnic, other outdoor events, a costume party in late October, music events, dinners, sales and bazaars.
Local Ministries (Mini-Missions)
Working with NETS (Neighbors Eager to Serve), an interchurch ministry that serves western Charles County, the Marbury Church of God collects food items for distribution at Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter, and has established its own emergency food pantry. The church has also established a supportive relationship with Gale-Bailey Elementary School, collecting a variety of supplies for use by the teachers and students at the school.
Some additional ways we are trying to demonstrate the love of Christ beyond our own walls in the community:
Closet of Hope
Launched August 3 of 2007. Members have collected new or “nearly-new” clothing to be made available to those who may need good clothes for school or work. Open the first and third Thursday of every month, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 p.m. (New hours beginning October 1, 2015). Other hours by appointment. For information or to donate clothing, contact Karen at 301-743-5950.
Sunday worship includes a blend of contemporary choruses and traditional hymns, and the contributions of talented soloists and others who are willing to contribute their talents to the worship experience.
Pastor Bob Buehler graduated in 1985 from Anderson University in Anderson, Indiana, majoring in History, and in 1987 from the Anderson University School of Theology, with a concentration in Historical Theology. He served churches in Vermont, Indiana, New Mexico and New York before answering the call to come to Marbury in 1996. He was ordained to the Christian ministry by the New Mexico Ministerial Assembly of the Church of God in August, 1986. She has been recognized by the church as Minister of Music and Worship, and working with the Credentials Committee of the CDP District of the Church of God, she received her ministerial license in 2005 and was ordained in November of 2006. She coordinates the music ministry, teaches an adult Sunday School class, and preaches both in this home church and elsewhere when called upon to do so.
